Eduardo L. Joson Memorial College : A Home for Scholars

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

Eduardo L. Joson Memorial College came into being on January 24, 2005 by the virtue of Nueva Ecija Provincial Board Resolution No. 34-5-2005. This school aimed at providing free high quality tertiary education to the financially less privilege  but exceptionally talented Novo Ecijano youths.

Eduardo L. Joson Memorial College was established in honor of the great patriarch Eduardo L. Joson who served as governor of Nueva Ecija for than 30 years since 1960. His deals and commitment to the youth and to the development of he entire province have inspired the continuing program on human resource development; thus the birth of this pioneering institution geared towards excellence, leadership, and justice. All these are envisioned to lead to the overall progress and honor of the province.

As a community college, ELJMC offers a full scholarship to the poor but deserving students and help them to achieve their goals. This school was located at Barangay Singalat, Palayan City, Nueva Ecija.

VISION OF THE SCHOOL

ELJMC, as a premiere educational institution, shall promote the ideas and perspective of the Great Patriarch Eduardo L. Joson, in order to provide equal access to quality education, develop a sense of justice and responsibilities, and create empowerment and global competitiveness among our people through innovative ideas, jobs, and self-employment.

MISSION OF ELJMC

ELJMC shall endeavor to engage in relevant researches and enrich knowledge in various disciples, and subsequently, general innovation and promote technologies, all geared toward excellence, leadership, and justice.

OBJECTIVES

1. Establish and maintain a dynamic research program by qualified and competent personnel with periodic publications of its studies in its scholarly journal.
2. Develop the culture of life-long, an enterprising and caring culture as major component to education.
3. Institutionalize an outreach program through its community extension services manned by experience and service-oriented personnel.
4. Continuously disseminate new knowledge and information, effective delivery system and state-of-the-art instructional tools.
5. Promote a sense of heightened awareness and active participation in addressing issues and problems in various realms of life - political, economic, social, cultural, ecological and spiritual; and
6. Motivate students towards greater achievements and produce graduates with excellent performance in relate professional licensure examination and/or their chosen field of endeavor.

COURSES OFFERED

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN ACCOUNTANCY

Being an accountancy student, ELJMC help them to become a successful accountant, bookkeeper, and financial analyst in the near future. Through this, they can be specialize within the major fields of accounting - public,management (industrial), and gavernment.

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION AND BACHELOR OF SCIENCE IN ENTREPRENEURSHIP

Develop students into real businessman, marketing assistant/consultants, and creative entrepreneur. They help students to achieve organizational ability and commitment to work.

BACHELOR IN ELEMENTARY EDUCATION AND BACHELOR IN SECONDARY EDUCATION

ELJMC help teacher education students to earn patience, love of learning, together with the ability to develop internal discipline, integrity, and sound reasoning in others. In the near future they  can use all the knowledge that they gain to interact with their own and so called students.

In this institution, there are lots of club organization established to develop the social relations, self-respect, love for others, and especially the individual talents. Students can join in different organization such as SKDT (helps you to develop your dancing capability), The Voices (enhance you singing career), Mukha (level up your acting in terms of stage play), ELJFM (helps you to strengths your religious belief).

In the past few years, Eduardo L. Joson Memorial College always on the top in terms of licensure examination for teacher and examination for certified public accountant. The teacher, faculty and staffs are very accommodating and approachable. They lead students toward their goals and teach them to become productive and meaningful person.
